A gas giant, a reminder about writing platforms, and another one about where it all fits in life...
Phase 3 has been off to a rough start

As I feared, my wife’s grandmother passed during the week.
As you’re reading this, I’ve taken the kids up to join my wife for the funeral. As a rule of thumb, I don’t take a lot of electronics on the road with me right now. My family is my main focus, so staying up late to write is a risk I’d rather not take when it comes to driving for long periods of time.
We’re within spitting distance of the school year gearing back up.
Here’s what I’ve dug up this week:
BlueSky Bit - just a big, hot, ball of gas…
Medium Moment - enjoy the Substack ride, but know that it’s the same as others
Substack Sampling - everything is a square peg in the circle of life
Prismatic Progress:
I’ve been writing more in the background and publishing far less this month.
Phase 3 has been a hectic one so far.
In case you didn’t know, I divide up my year into four sprints in three phases. This phase is typically where I do a bit more retooling and visibility tweaking based on what I learned in the previous one…
But that’s blurred a bit this year due to a number of events that I’ve mentioned here.
Life’s been hurling more tennis balls at me lately, and I have no choice but to take them a la Happy Gilmore style.
I’ve also decided that I like guest posting and will continue to do it about once a month. I have a solid method to improve my writing and to share my thoughts so it makes sense to try this approach as a way to gain a bit more visibility.
Through all of this, family comes first. I never got a chance to say goodbye to my own grandparents when they all passed overseas. I’m not going to miss this second chance at that with my wife’s. I’m thankful for her existence because without her, my wife wouldn’t be here.
It’s a reminder for why I’m here building this digital heirloom. Perhaps my own grandchildren will read this someday.
