A GoT giggle, the supposed doom of Substack, and a reminder about the perils of AI
Also, an admission of the funk in my journey

We’re at the hairy edge of the whole process starting all over again.
You could feel it in the traffic this week as the morning and afternoon commutes to and from work were a little more dicey as parents figured out their new routes.
There’s a certain rhythm that settles into place that’s seasonal, but you don’t feel it unless you’re in the game…something to think about from a larger perspective about life in general, both as a parent and as a professional.
Here’s what I’ve dug up this week:
BlueSky Bit - oh this is good on so many levels…
Substack Sampling - AI is everywhere, and it’s being used in all the wrong ways
Prismatic Progress:
I’m going through a bit of a conundrum right now, a minor burnout moment if you will.
Perhaps I go through this every year when the seasons change, but I just wasn’t really aware of it in the previous two years. My kids are getting deeper into the education system (which I’m watching like a hawk these days given what the government is deciding to do), and my wife is about to restart her own journey as their survival becomes less precarious…
I find myself humbled at this point. Perhaps you’ll recall that I went into overdrive during the first half of the year and proved to myself that I could write prolifically (without using AI to generate a single word). I use it now to provide feedback on pieces that I really want to refine, and it’s proven to be a great teacher in improving my flow and transitions.
That’s as far as I’m going to go with that application, though.
I didn’t start writing so that I could crank out articles. I started because I needed an outlet and a way to sharpen my articulation of my thoughts and my critical thinking skills. The moment you outsource anything, you lose the origination and your perspective.
That’s dangerous.
I’ll find my stride again. For now, though, I will need to stick to this weekly cadence, both here and on Substack/Medium.
We move forward.
