Also, the summer has just begun

And just like that, the first week of summer came and went.
We’re moving into the era where there are children showing up at our house as guests more often than not. Summer vacation means this is going to increase in frequency as our kids start dipping their toes into creating their own social networks…
Frightening. Now we’re going to be responsible for keeping other kids alive in our house when they decide to join in on the craziness!
Took my oldest to a final birthday party of the season. It was all girls. I guess we just didn’t have the sense to know when invitations are given out of courtesy, but he had a great time nevertheless!
Finally got a library card for the first time since returning to the US…about time. It’s nice to be in a quiet space where even your children know that you aren’t allowed to scream and shout in that environment. What a novel concept!
Here’s what I’ve dug up this week:
BlueSky Bit - We all feel this way every now and then…
Medium Moment - The real challenges in challenges (once is not enough)
Substack Sampling - The basics never get old and never go out of fashion
Prismatic Progress:
I’ve been feeling my comment game a lot more now that I’m not pushing to publish every single night.
My sleep patterns have improved as well (not just because school’s out, but that’s a great perk).
With all the material that I’ve written, Kieran Drew’s latest course has been nothing short of illuminating because I’m finally admitting to myself that I need to take the next step and actually do the sales and promotional work that I dread so much.
Some of you out here make it seem so easy. I envy you…but now I’m going to take a shot at it.
Better start sucking now so that I’m actually halfway decent when I need it to be in a few years, right?
In fact, I realize that this is one of my annoying pain points that I need to solve for myself. They say that if you know sales and your own creation process, then you’re unstoppable.
I wonder how his other students are doing in this course?
I’m going to be revamping my banner and my links over the next week or so in light of the results so I’d love to hear any feedback you have.
I haven’t felt this encouraged about my work in a while…here’s hoping, right?
