Already there, another automation, and three things a writer needs

This was the trial week, and it was only a taste of things to come...it's looking like a crazy ride from this vantage point so hang on as we get going!

I thought I’d get more time to work on this, but the reality of it is that I’ve had to push it to the side as things ramp up for the year.

Nothing like starting with a bang…and it’s been pretty crazy around the country in general. Unless you’ve been living under a rock or simply aren’t interested in what’s happening, you know what I’m referring to.

Whatever illusions you have of being insulated from it, you might want to reflect and reconsider.

Here’s what I’ve come across this week:

Prismatic Progress:

You know you’re finally starting to feel things “click” when people are actively encouraging you to grow.

There are a handful of people that I’ve been on this journey with for years now (can’t believe I can say that), and I’ve watched them progress nicely. For myself, I never made a single pitch or tried to promote my work to any significant degree because I’ve been chipping away at this mental block of mine. Turns out, it’s the biggest one for me.

Ten days in, and I’m letting things come as I can. This isn’t easy. Scheduling is about to shift drastically over the next few months as my wife starts her certificate program. I’m lucky to have a job at all at this point as I have no idea how every other family manages to keep things going in the 21st century with less resources, less time, and frankly less support all around…

It’s humbling, and I’m determined to prove that I can do this. I’ve met so many people around the world who have managed to find success with less favorable circumstances. One of my biggest challenges is establishing boundaries with my children as they get older. From birth until around the age of six or so, there’s no such thing because they need you for every single aspect of their survival. They’re leaving this period of life now, and I can begin to communicate a little more effectively to them.

There’s a lot more to say that’s a big part of one of the pillars of what I’m going to write about this year, but I’ll leave it at that for now.

This was the ramp up week. It’s about to get real.
