Taking stock of my work over the past 30 months...

First weekly edition since I scrubbed this list.
Thanks for still being here after all this time.
It does feel a little more freeing to have a much smaller audience to write to, and it does tell me about a few things about this newsletter.
I’m ok with the fact that it’s my main content hub, my crucible, my forge.
Not everything here is going to be solid, but it’s the effort of writing regularly that keeps me going.
I’m considering increasing the publishing rate here after a few weeks, but I’m wary of its effects on me.
Nobody said this would be easy.
Nobody said this would needed to be hard, either!
Here’s what I’ve dug up this week:
BlueSky Bit - can’t stop staring at this…
Medium Moment - a universal rule for anyone creating something
Substack Sampling - an important message about independent growth
Prismatic Progress:
I’m beginning to re-adjust to the openness this place feels like for me.
Thirty months of writing, and I realize that I’ve quietly passed the 450 mark in pieces written across three platforms.
Beehiiv: 252 published
Medium: 187 published
Substack: 21 published
That’s 460 total…
And yes, over 90% of these are original articles. I’ve only recently started editing and improving previous articles to improve on my delivery of my ideas.
I think 500 is a good number to aim for by Labor Day, but I won’t push for quantity.
I’ll continue to refine my methods when it comes to editing and learning.
Also, I know I’m behind on sharing my book reviews, but I haven’t been slacking on those. I’ve actually read a lot more recently.
I’ve also decided to find some inspiration in another game that I’ve recently put some time into: Disco Elysium.
The writing is just incredible. If there were ever a game that I would recommend to writers simply for the richness and depth of delivery, it would be this one.
Its reputation is well-deserved.
It makes me want to take my writing to the next level as well.
1000 days. 500 articles. 3 books.
These are nice round numbers to push towards.
