Totally unexpected (delightful) video clip, a tidbit about family, and the point of writing out here
Plus a small achievement and my aspirations here

I took my kid to a birthday party today at the roller skating rink.
He went to ice skate for the first time when he was five years old, and this was another first for him. It was fascinating to watch him learn the ropes in real time as I stayed by him and coached him.
Few other parents were on the rink. The vast majority were on the side lines scrolling through their phones. It reminded me of the fact that we, as Millennials, were the first to embrace the digital age and the hold it had on us was evident.
It also made me wonder if the term “helicopter parent” applied to me. I wasn’t just watching my own kid on the floor, if others took a bad spill, I’d check on them to see if they were ok.
It was nice to be back on the rink. I had spent a good deal of my childhood in roller skates or ice skates. The speed, the feel of the wind on my face as I accelerated down the stretch, the ease of movement that came with wheels or the ice beneath my feet.
Don’t take your childhood for granted, and don’t deprive your children of theirs.
Here’s what I’ve got for you this week.
BlueSky Bit - nothing like an “all you can eat” buffet…with a twist
Substack Sampling - a reminder about honing the craft for the sake of improving communication (and I know I’m guilty of this one)
Prismatic Progress:
This was the first week where I managed to pull off something I never thought I’d manage to do:
Two articles in one sitting.
It’s basically an “Eve Arnold”, right?
Life threw some curve balls at me this week and wiped out my scheduling buffer for my work so I’m back to squeezing out an article the day before after over two months of steadily pacing it. I may be coming down with another illness, but I know I can do this now.
These next few weeks are going to be me finishing out my analogy series and getting back to writing about the digital heirloom process. I want to provide more useful tips and tools with every piece I write, and I’m grateful for the feedback from my book review article this week. I’ve already got March’s book lined up and am chewing through April’s.
Keep moving forward!
