I'm a sucker for dog pics, an unfortunate truth about higher ed, and the truth about why AI isn't a silver bullet
Plus some interesting metrics that I've realized just now

My family has been on the merry-go-round of sickness.
I spent most of today in a clinic to find out that my youngest has Flu A.
I had my flu shot a few months ago so I’ve managed to support him through it all.
You never know when your luck will run out, though.
Don’t ever take your health for granted.
Here’s what I’ve got for you this week.
BlueSky Bit - why can’t my dog look like that after stealing chicken?
Medium Maxim - what grinds my gears as someone with seven “degrees”…
Substack Sampling - my take on what it means to be a human writer in the age of AI slop
Prismatic Progress:
I finally…FINALLY…started throwing all of my work on this newsletter as well as my Medium articles into Reedsy.
It’s been a long time coming, but I’m realizing that my 7-day series throughout the past two years or so are all great starting points for eBooks, checklists, workbooks…a bunch of little things that can help you improve physically, emotionally, or in the writing process.
I also just realized that I’ve written over 250 articles in total across these two platforms now, and each one ranged between 300 and 1200 words.
That means I’ve written roughly 150,000 words if I assume around 700 words.
That’s about three full books.
Given that I’ve filled five notebooks from journaling at this point, that means I’ve written...a lot?
The challenge is to start converting into goodies that make a difference for you.
Not bad for an overwhelmed 9-5 parent.
If I can do it, then I believe anyone can do it.
How much have you written so far in your journey?
