I want to be like this someday, floodgates open for Medium, and a trait that resonates with me...
Why I've slowed down recently

Today marks the beginning of the final 90-day sprint of the year.
I can safely say that this previous sprint was pretty intense in a lot of ways that I’m glad to put behind me now.
The last two weeks have been interesting.
I’ve pushed myself hard to sleep longer than I ever thought I would, and the results have been humbling to say the least. For the first time since before starting a family, I’ve hit over seven hours of sleep on average in a week. It feels…weird…to feel closer to normal in a very long time.
Now if I can just incorporate everything else that I want to do with my life back in. Shoehorning all the stuff that I gave up for this experiment back into my life is going to take a few more tweaks that I haven’t been able to pull off in years prior, but it’s worth the effort.
Once you’ve had a taste of full functionality, you don’t want to lose it!
Here’s what I’ve scrounged up this week:
BlueSky Bit - Just old and chill
Medium Moment - Ok so they opened it up to external traffic
Substack Sampling - Not my usual thing, but this is exactly what I would do
Prismatic Progress:
If I haven’t said much, it’s because the course I’m taking right now is actually a lot more focused on the internal stuff than the external stuff.
And boy is it hitting me hard in ways that I had avoided for the past few years!
There’s a lot of “suggested” reading that I decided to fully own. The cost of the course itself is a fraction of what you pay for in college, so it was a no-brainer to buy all the books. Perhaps I should check out the library to see if they have extra copies.
All this to say that I’ve completed two amazing books so far: “The Dream Thief” by Derek Salinger, and “Comparisonitis” by Melissa Ambrosini. I’m diving into “Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway” by Susan Jeffers now and “Don’t Believe Everything You Think” by Joseph Nguyen.
My reading cadence is on overdrive. I’m also chatting with AI a lot on thoughts and planning for what I want to do with all of this. Maybe it’s not much, but I’m beginning to realize just how much of my work has been done with my arms and legs tied behind my back as I roll around aimlessly.
Feels like I’m breaking free…
