There’s a quiet desperation in the status quo.

The present is the result of all past actions, and it’s the catalyst for all future ones. Some days it seems like you’ve got your hands firmly on the steering wheel. Others feel like you’re in the trunk.

This feels like the latter.

This phase hasn’t shaped up in the way that I hoped it would, but it’s what makes the journey so interesting…

I can’t seem to shake the slow burn that has encroached upon me recently, but with two kids at various stages of injury, it’s also been nonstop craziness. On top of that, my wife’s birthday is coming up, and I’m already financially tapped out due to all the surprises as of late.

Reading “The Millionaire Fastlane” has been like rubbing salt into the wounds. It hasn’t been a fun reminder. It’s not easy figuring these things out, and I’m not keen on the scorched Earth scenario.

For now, I’m just getting my writing groove back, but I’ve also had a lot more sleep than I thought possible.
