The Last Issue in This Format (For Now)

I can't believe I've written 75 of these!

Arriving at the starting gate…

Tomorrow my son turns 7 years old…

Did you know that it takes that period of time for your body to completely replace itself in terms of cell generation?

This means that every seven years, you are a literally a new person.

I started this journey around the time that he was born with a simple shift in my mind that occurred when I became a father.

All good things must come to an end in some way, shape, or form.

So, too, does this newsletter.

What will happen here…

This is the 75th issue of this newsletter.

As I’ve started to go back through the issues from the beginning, I've realized just how bad the writing was when I started!

No, like…it was really bad.

This newsletter has been more about me finding my path to where I am today than it has been about trying to help you.

It’s served more as a journal documenting this process than anything else.

Hopefully, it’s been insightful for you to see how a writer develops from the early stages.

As I mentioned last week, I’m going to shift to an atomic format here.

However, I’m also seriously considering investing in Beehiiv for its more advanced features.

I really don’t know how it’s going to go beyond this point, but if you’ve enjoyed this type of writing from me, then please sign up for my Substack.

It will still be a weekly cadence there.

I’ve decided not to force any of you there. It doesn’t seem right.

I’ve always had the perspective that I have to earn the right to your readership, and I want to respect your continued allowance of me into your inbox.

Either way, thank you so much for this privilege.

My journey (full circle)

I’m already in the process of changing this newsletter to reflect on my current philosophy in terms of what I offer.

I write about self-mastery in terms of prismatic thinking and writing.

Everything that I’ve shared with you is in this context, but it was always from the angle of discovering things that I’ve found about writing, building a digital footprint, and the systems that I’ve built around sustaining the process.

Think of it this way: you are the prism through which the light of external thoughts, ideas, and experiences flow.

Each of these refracts into a spectrum of different angles that produce different colors. You can look at these colors in context of the Infinity Stones of the MCU, the emotional spectrum of the Lantern Corps of the DCU, or any other sets or categories that resonate with you.

Your life isn’t restricted to looking at just one angle either.

You can express your interpretations through a combination of multiple colors like in the “Inside Out” movies.

You can see how overlapping different primary colors that represent different ideas or powers can shade or nuance to create the secondary ones.

It’s taken me 21 months of writing to really understand that this flexibility and thinking in terms of personal development encapsulates my philosophy of life so well.

It’s a garden of life that is supplied by sunlight that refracts into so many colors.

What’s in it for you?

Throughout these 74 previous issues, I’ve gradually developed my views on self-mastery through this perspective but failed to truly provide something concrete for you to go on.

My writing has reached a point where I want to refine on these previous ideas and show more about how I got here in an effort to help you on your journey.

You signed up here for a reason…to learn tips and tricks on your own self-mastery journey.

I have enough confidence now to make a serious attempt at putting together email sequences to help you develop different aspects of life that I’ve learned about through this prismatic approach, but that journey will take place on Substack.

When it’s ready, I’ll most likely port it over to this platform and tinker with actually having a sequence in the form of a mini-short course that is separate from the atomic format.

I don’t know if this will work, but I want to try it.

As August ends and the school year ramps up, I hope to grow in my ability to help you…

Thank you for being here.
