Let's start at the core
Who are you?

It’s like wandering through a room full of funhouse mirrors.
Everywhere you look, your reflection is just off…
comically large, potato-shaped head
gangly long arms that touch the floor
a large, bulbous gut that implies one too many beers
The truth is that each one is a part of your residual self identity.1
From the moment we became self-aware, we’ve been unconsciously looking at ourselves in every reflective surface imaginable.
Window shopping? You’re checking your hair.
Rearview mirrors of parked cars? You’re checking your teeth.
In the bathroom preparing for bed? You’re lamenting your steadily receding hairline.2
Yet, that’s the thing that we seldom truly have time to reflect on as we get older and our responsibilities mount…
Bills need to be paid.
The dogs need to be groomed.
The kid needs a new pair of pants cuz he’s finally potty-trained.
Your identity is, without a doubt, one of the most fluid aspects of you that, 99% of the time, you can barely spare a second glance at.
But that’s what defines your legacy.
You are the anchor point.
You are the lodestone.
Just you.
So that’s where we’ll begin again.
This week is all about YOU
The newsletter you’ve signed up to receive is going to share ideas centered around building a digital heirloom by creating a digital footprint.
This week is about looking within and becoming a mind miner again.
You are an untapped vein of knowledge, experience, and love.
Each day, I will share another aspect to consider.
I’m aiming for 7 days per theme with something useful you can take away at the end.
Today was the introduction.
We’ll start with the first aspect tomorrow.
Let me know if you have any thoughts on this new structure!
P. S.
I’m excited to be doing this. For the first time since I started this journey, it feels like there’s a focus and a direction I can write towards.
It just feels right.
