My mental self-image, yet another reminder to not do this (ever), and the new SEO we need to learn

Also, another win with the help of AI (recommended)

It’s quiet.

Like…eerily quiet.

The dogs are snoozing in the living room. The cats are roaming upstairs.

My wife took the kids up to see her dad for the weekend, and left me with a “honeydo” list. Without the usual juggling act that parents have when their kids are constantly asking for attention, I blasted through it in an afternoon.

It reminded me of just how efficiently I used to live…and those skills had only improved over time with each family member we added.

I’ve been re-reading “The Millionaire Fastlane” by MJ DeMarco, and let me tell you, it’s a punch to the gut. It’s humbling and a little frightening because right now, I feel like I haven’t gotten anywhere since the first time I read it almost three years ago.

Then I remembered that it was this book that caused me to start looking around YouTube for inspiration.

The algorithm took notice and eventually lead me to Dan Koe’s channel.

So yeah…right now I feel like Frogger on the “Sidewalk” struggling to hop into the “Slow Lane”.

Here’s what I’ve dug up this week:

Prismatic Progress:

This week was the third, and final, week of doing one of the exercises from “1% Writer”.

One of the assignments was to track how you spend your time for a week.

It was not easy to do so naturally I had a “hold my beer” moment and went for three in a row.

The cool part was throwing it at AI for feedback, and the results have been amazing.

My first week showed me just how much time and energy I was leaking with my “just-in-time” approach to juggling my responsibilities. I worked with AI to codify and label all the activities into specific categories that I could use to focus my intent.

The second week was a dry run to see how that went. It made tracking my time far easier.

That resulted in increased sleep as I mentioned in the previous issue.

I took all the routine stuff and made it into a checklist to clean up the transitions. That was this week…

It definitely works if you stick with it and put in the effort. And this is for a 9-5 parent whose daily life is all over the place.

I wish I had this kind of focus and discipline when I was in my 20s.

I increased my productivity for both my day job and this journey, got more sleep, and actually spent less time chasing my kids around the house and more time talking to them.

Looking forward to seeing how this pays dividends moving forward.
