Plus, true to form, it's that time again...

I had a really great call with the one and only Derek Selinger this week.
Back in my Twitter Era, I used to do these calls all the time, and I’m glad that I did. Over 70 calls to people across the world, and I learned so much from meeting them!
It’s probably a good idea to start doing them again, but not nearly at the pace that I used to. Both of us had grown over the past few years since our first call, and I’m pleased to say that we both validated each other’s ideas and thoughts about what we had to offer. I’ve been enjoying his new book, “The Dream Thief”, and I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to rediscover theirs.
Here’s what I’ve discovered this week:
BlueSky Bit - Yep. I have a problem.
Medium Moment - The answer is “it depends”…so which are you?
Substack Sampling - I want see this as a craft, but he’s got a point when it comes to scale
Prismatic Progress:
So now, for the first time, I have an angle that actually keeps everything in alignment with what I’ve been doing here as well as something that will help those like me:
Self-advocacy is rooted in identity and how it shapes your career and personal growth.
Sounds about right. Mind mining, knowledge theory, the prismatic process, the digital heirloom and digital footprinting…these are all tools, frameworks, and strategies that I’ve been developing over the past few years.
They all play a part in how I’ve been securing my own path here. The technical aspects of preventing others as well as AI from potentially repurposing and abusing what I’ve shared are the next step…which is why I’ve started exploring blockchain and how to use it as a temporal record of my work.
But the last piece of this puzzle also incorporates my passion for teaching and education, and it’s the piece that’s valuable on another level.
You need to learn both sides in order to be effective and unassailable. It’s learning to tap into your unique skill sets, leveraging them in your career for maximum visibility, and ensuring that your digital presence is both solid and owned by you.
It’s like pulling a Taylor Swift and buying back your masters.
That’s what I’ve learned to do with writing online. That’s where my offer is going to focus on.
I think another rebrand is required, but life is all about growth and change.
In the words of CJ from GTA: San Andreas: “Aw sh*t, here we go again!”
Let’s hope it’s not a Cracker Barrel situation…(too soon?)
