What is a digital heirloom?
It's a lens into your life to see it for what it truly is and could be
Today is Independence Day (something I’ve got a lot of thoughts about), and it is the last day you’ll be receiving this newsletter from me unless you do (or did) one of the following:
Respond with a “yes” to this issue.
Responded with a “yes” to the previous issue.
Respond with a “yes” to either one in the future (if they’re still in your inbox).
Otherwise, I thank you again for having stayed with me for so long. If you’re subscribed to me on other writing platforms, you’ll probably see these there someday…
As a teen on American Online (eons ago in internet time), I went by the handle “Soulsage”.
At the time, all my friends always called me an old soul (now, I’m just old).
I very briefly considered using that as my Twitter handle before settling on “Mind Miner”.
If you’ve been reading long enough, you might remember that was this newsletter was once called “The Mind Mines”.
Every few months, my topics would shift. Bit-by-bit, they became more centered around self-awareness, critical thinking, and building a lasting body of work in a world where AI is becoming the preferred method to mass produce media.
Each iteration incorporated more of the elements that helped make this possible.
It’s like those lens masks that you go through at the eye doctor. Each time they rotate to a different one, the image gets a little sharper.
What I share here is meant to do exactly that; to focus your view of your identity in all its disparate and evolving parts.
It’s not just a body of work you leave behind, it’s something you live with, work with, and grow from.
You don’t create it for fame or followers or even for fun.
You build it to discover your true self, act with intentional focus, and iterate on that foundation to live a life that is fulfilling; aligned with who you are as opposed to what society dictates you should be.
This newsletter offers a way to stop scattering your legacy and start forging it one step at a time.
The Digital Heirloom is a tool to forge a unified, intentional identity.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have all the answers…but I am building the systems and frameworks every day to figure it out.
The stuff I share here is meant to guide you on your own transformational process from a 9-5 parent who is just going through the motions to survive to one who finds purpose personally, professionally, and passionately.
Because that’s what it’s been doing for me.
Next time, I’ll share how you can build yours.
P.S. Again, respond with a “yes” to this issue if you want to continue receiving issues from here if you haven’t already done so.
