These past few weeks have been crazy. Shortly after publishing last week’s craziness, I got the scare of my life when my wife was rushed to the ER for a series of unfortunate choices on her end. I’m just thankful that she’s alive and celebrated her birthday this week when she came back home.

Here’s what I’ve dug up this week:

I need a break…or a breakthrough.

I know it’s all on me, and I’ve been slowly embracing two things:

• More sleep.

• And more help.

Screw pride. I’m getting too old for this sh*t. When you cross the 40-yard line, suddenly the End Zone looks a lot closer than you realize, and the prospect of fumbling the ball along the way becomes more likely.

Perhaps that’s the secret? That fear that you might not score the winning point for your team.

I know the path is long, that patience is a virtue, and persistence is the key but damn if it doesn’t suck at times.

Preaching to the choir of course. You know exactly what I’m talking about.

I’m slowly getting back on the horse. At least he’s found a nice shady spot to wait while I grab the reins and start trying to hoist myself back up.
